The binary code applied to the sex of a baby
After studying classic American baby quilts, I decided to update this quilt form. Letters of the alphabet, numbers, and hearts are common elements in crib quilts and lend themselves to modern reinterpretation.
The three quilts in BabyQuilt Triptych are all the same size, 32" x 32", and are either in blue/yellow or yellow/blue. They have 64 blocks of repeating shapes, numbers, and/or letters, but they are in patterns that reflect a new, technological, and sometimes uncertain future for babies born in the 21st century.
